The BSR Sustainability Hackathon kicks off Saturday, November 1st in Brooklyn. We look forward to seeing your creativity and technical prowess on display to create hacks that have a positive impact on the world, whether it be around transport, energy, housing, food/water, infrastructure or something else entirely. The sky’s the limit.

You'll have 30 hours starting November 1st, 12pm at the Urban Future Lab in Brooklyn. We'll provide the meals, WiFi and hacking space (along with awesome views from the 19th floor), you bring your ideas and hackertude.

The top three winning hacks will receive cash prizes (up to $4,000), and will also get to present their demo later that week in front of the larger BSR conference comprised of over 1,000 sustainability professionals. It's a great forum for you to spread your idea. Last year's hackathon winners were a team called WattTime. They developed an app to monitor peak times for wind power on to the electrical grid in the Northeast corridor, and since then have founded a nonprofit to continue working on this and other new products.

We are accepting registrations until the day of the hackathon. To register and for more information, please visit http://bsr14.org/hackathon
